Floral Frocks - Spring 2018

As I mentioned in my previous post, we booked a vacation to somewhere beachy and I’m dreaming of warmer climates.  So although it may be a little early, in fact there is snow falling outside my window as I type this, I’ve rounded up some of my favorite floral frocks for Spring.  Some which already hang in my closet, some that are lingering in my online shopping carts, and some that I just truly appreciate but will probably never have a chance to wear.  I’m looking at you #5.  Honestly, if my bank account could sustain it, I’d buy them all!  Floral is such a feminine staple and I love to see how designers reinvent it over and over again each season.  See my top picks for some Spring 2018 floral dresses.

We’ve had a pretty mild winter here in Denver but there’s just something about full-on Spring!  I’m really enjoying the warm weather, longer days and love that everything is so beautiful in bloom this time of year.  Driving by these blossoming trees in my neighborhood puts a smile on my face each day!  Pink is one of my favorite colors in any shade and I’m so happy that it’s everywhere this season in nature and in fashion.

Spring Shoe Edit 2017

Although it feels more like winter in Denver now than it did just last week, I wanted to share my Spring 2017 Shoe Wish List!  I’ve been stocking up on nude block-heel sandals as seen on my Instagram.   Typically I gravitate towards neutral shoes but I’ve also really been loving footwear with a pop of pink.  Pink pairs with almost everything so try this season’s perfect pastel pink tennis shoes,  rose mid-calf boots, fuchsia lace-ups, or blush mules.  Spring shoes are all about the details with fringe, fur and floral popping up everywhere.  See my top picks to spring your footwear forward this season. (Pun intended!)

Burgundy & Pink

Burgundy paired with pink may be a fall trend, but since it’s still in the 80’s and 90’s in Denver I’ve modified the trend for hotter temps.

Showing Off the Shoulder

Shoulder_Baring_Spread

Shoulder baring tops are the ultimate summer trend and one that I definitely promote you try.  There are many stylish iterations of the cold-shoulder and off-the-shoulder styles. The popular styles add an element of boho-chic design to any ensemble.  Plus, bare shoulders help beat the heat without showing too much skin.    See my selections for tops you need to throw a fierce cold shoulder this summer!

We had a nice relaxing weekend and headed to brunch in uptown on Sunday.  Brunch is seriously one of my favorite things to do, it’s such a fun social activity and I love trying out new restaurants!  I’ve seriously been craving lemon ricotta pancakes ever since I saw a sign for them outside of a restaurant during our recent trip to NYC.  So I tracked some down at Humboldt thanks to Yelp .

Gingham for Easter

We celebrated Easter with lunch and High Tea at The Brown Palace Hotel and Spa.  This was my first time experiencing High Tea and I absolutely loved every minute of it.  High Tea is held in the lobby of the hotel and includes a vast selection of exotic teas accompanied by delicious mini desserts, scones, tea sandwiches and live music.  And if you’re not abstaining from champagne like I currently am, you can add in bubbly!  We really didn’t need to eat lunch before since there was so much food served, but since we were all tea-time beginners and didn’t know any better we ate beforehand.  The Brown Palace is one of my go-to’s for special occasions, like the Champagne Cascade to kick off the holiday season as seen in this post.

I’ve been experimenting with how to dress my growing baby bump and found the perfect Easter outfit as seen in this Instagram post.

A Weekend in NYC

fashion, lifestyle, New York City, travel, Travel Guide, Winter

NYC (8)This past weekend, Scott and I spent a long weekend in New York City.  We’re lucky enough to have friends who live in the city and they always show us a good time, taking us to historical bars, hip restaurants and recommending fun tourist activities a little off the beaten path.  For those without friends in NYC, here’s my long-weekend guide to New York City.
