Burgundy paired with pink may be a fall trend, but since it’s still in the 80’s and 90’s in Denver I’ve modified the trend for hotter temps.
Burgundy is one of fall’s hottest hues and a versatile color at that. The color is synonymous with autumn and the changing leaves and it therefore a ringer for fall fashion. You can find burgundy on many of the runways this year and when paired with pink, the color combination gives the jewel tone a fresh feel.
I paired this scoop-neck burgundy tee with pink shorts, creating a relaxed and feminine combination. The basic tee in the color of the season is very versatile and can be worn with tons of options in the coming months. And although shorts will soon be stored until spring, I’m getting use out of these precious pink ditties while I can. I love the inset crochet trim at the hem of the pair of shorts, it adds a sweet little detail. To mimic this outfit, just add some classic tan sandals and your favorite sunnies and you’re good to go.
(I recently picked up these gems at one of my favorite local boutiques, June Ruby, and FYI the shorts are on major sale!)
I wore this outfit to run some mid-week errands with my boys. We made a pit-stop for lunch at The Sugarmill and enjoyed some delicious strawberry lemonade, doing our best to soak up the final days of summer. (If you live in Denver and haven’t heard of The Denver Dining Out Passbook, make sure to check it out and grab yours ASAP! You get two for one entrees at 70 Denver restaurants and Scott and I use it all over town. It’s a great excuse to stop in your favorite eateries and to try new places.)
