I whole-heartedly believe that leopard-print is a neutral. My closet proves just that! Over the years, I’ve accumulated plenty of animal print pieces to mix-and-match.
Leopard-print is usually rendered in black and various shades of tan, making it the perfect pattern to pair with color and dare I say, even other patterns! Going for a classic look, pair leopard with red. Looking for a more subdued outfit, team the feline print with black, white , cream and tans. And if you’re ready for a walk on the wild side, style your leopard with denim, bold colors or even stripes. Animal print is a trend that won’t go out of style. Here’s my top picks to make you the cat’s meow!
Girlfriends are a necessity and I’ve been fortunate to have a core group of friends built in since high school, and one of those girls has been my best friend since elementary school. I also found an equally amazing group of fun-loving girls in college that I’ve continued to be close to even though we’re all scattered across the country. Since 2017 was a milestone year as most of us turned thirty, I thought it would be fun to reflect on what a great trip around the sun it was and how much I love these girls.
(The picture above is actually from the kick-off party to our wedding weekend! It was so much fun having my friends, old and “new”, together by my side for all of our wedding events. This picture was taken almost four an a half years ago and I’m happy to report that each of these women are still dear friends. I am just so grateful for my squad.)
I recently picked up this cutout choker sweater dress in grey and it’s the perfect go-to for the season. It’s cozy with an interesting neckline and the short hemline makes it perfect to pair with over-the-knee boots.
In my second B&B Miscellaneous installment I will continue to share little tidbits about my life lately, things I like, do, want, etc. Hope you enjoy getting to know me a little better! If you’d like to see more, check out my first installment.
Hi everyone! I’m sorry I have been so M.I.A. here on the blog but we’ve had a lot going on recently with a sick kiddo (who thankfully is doing much better), a stream of out-of-town visitors and gearing up to host Thanksgiving. Luckily, this nice weather has been giving us a chance to get outside and enjoy some fresh air, play in the park and finally rake up all of our leaves. We had a total of 16 giant bags of leaves from just our front yard! Yeesh.
With this nice weather I have been loving that I don’t have to wear tights just yet! Don’t get me wrong I love tights but since I dress up at the office and typically wear dresses and skirts to work, I feel like I live most of the fall, winter and even some spring months in tights. So it’s nice not to be forced into them with the delayed onset of cold weather here in Denver.
My trusty pleated midi skirt has been on frequent rotation this fall and I like to pair it with bare legs and pumps or pointed flats. I’ll mix in boots (and tights) as it continues to get colder. I’ve been donning pleats since I went to Catholic school, and I love that they’re really back in style now that I’m an adult.
I thought sharing little tidbits about my life lately, things I like, do, want, etc. might be a fun way for you guys to get to know me a little better. So here goes:
We had a weekend getaway to the mountains and it was so nice to get out of the city and just relax with my boys. We slept in, went hiking, and went for a drive to take in the changing leaves.
As much as it pains me to admit that summer is coming to an end, I can cope because fall fashion. I love all of the luxe fabrics and details of the season, especially when it comes to shoes. This year is all about embellishment and texture. Pearls, velvet and updated flats reign supreme. So in honor of the first day of New York Fashion Week, I wanted to share my 2017 Fall Footwear Wish List! See my selections for everything you need to look have your feet looking fabulous through fall!
We decided to take a little trip up to the mountains during my last week of maternity leave. I am seriously anxious about leaving my baby boy and heading back to work, so a getaway and a bit of fresh air was just what I needed.
Burgundy paired with pink may be a fall trend, but since it’s still in the 80’s and 90’s in Denver I’ve modified the trend for hotter temps.
