We recently had some family photos taken and I’m obsessed with how they turned out.  We used a local photographer Libby Felche who is so nice, it made taking pictures with a sleepy 1-year-old easy. I already shared a few of the photographs on my Instagram, but we had so many good ones that I wanted to share them here on the blog.

We took them during “golden hour” so an hour before the sunset which Libby F. said would be the best light.  We were pushing Carter’s bedtime so it was a little dicey at the end but she did a great job capturing our little family and I’m so pleased.   (We took the photos at Silo Park in Greenwood Village if anyone is looking for a good spot in Denver.)

I just think his face is the cutest and I wanted to have photos of him around his first birthday.  And I mean that wispy baby hair is just the sweetest thing, come on!!

I bought this dress for one of my college roommates’ weddings we attended on the Jersey Shore back in July which you can read more about in this blog post.  I’ve really been loving gingham this season as you can see from this recent post from the mountains and on my Instagram here and here.   Unfortunately this exact dress is sold out online but I found a few similar options like this tiered, gingham maxi skirt, this gorgeous silky DVF dress, and this striped cotton poplin maxi dress.

Could they be any more handsome in their matching newsboy caps?!  Those hats are on heavy rotation in our household.

Carter is wearing these khakis, these loafers which only have limited sizes online (similar here, here and here) and a newsboy cap.  I couldn’t find a chambray one exactly like his but Janie and Jack has some reeeeeeeeeeeeally cute ones in navy, courdroy, plaid and holiday plaid.  I couldn’t find his button up either but this blue onesie, chest striped oxford and plaid versions are super cute too.

I also love Scott’s shoes which are these leather Cole Haan Sneakers.

^Carter actually ended up eating this dandelion.  He popped it in his mouth right after this photo and even though I got a majority of it out he still had a few pieces in there that he chewed on for a couple of minutes.  Yuck!
