When in Rome

Rome has a thing for monuments.  And boy are the beautiful!  We did a self-guided walking tour of Rome’s main attractions and loved getting lost in between.  The Eternal City is sprawling yet walkable, which makes it easy to pack a lot of sightseeing into a short period of time.

Florence, or Firenze in Italian, is hands down one of my favorite cities.  The architecture, art, fashion and the food are all exceptional.  And it doesn’t hurt that Florence is the capital of Tuscany which as we all know is a region renowned for it’s vino!

Burano is a small island off the coast of Venice.  It’s known for it’s bright, beautifully colored houses which line small canals.  The colorful homes are quite charming and their reflection off of the water only add to the cheery splendor of Burano.  It’s surreal walking around the secluded, quiet island.

We recently went on an Italian holiday and our first stop was Venice. We arrived by boat from the airport, which is the best way to come into the city and take full advantage of the beauty of Venice.  Scott and I wandered the narrow, winding streets and came across troves of shops, street vendors and eateries. The canals and bridges make navigating interesting, but that’s half of the fun!

The hubby and I had a date night at one of our favorite Italian restaurants and on the walk over we came across an abundance of sunflowers in someone’s yard.  It was lovely and reminded me of my time in Kansas, where I went to college.

This army-green Twelfth Street by Cynthia Vincent maxi always makes me laugh, since I bought it on a whim after a bottomless mimosa brunch in Chicago with Katie of Kel & Kate

Broncos Country - Hot Weather Wear 2

As summer winds down and fall approaches, so too does the kick off of football season.  In our house, we are Broncos fans through and through.  And since the first weeks of pre-season are underway, I’ve compiled cute Game Day Gear for warm weather games.  See my selections for everything you need to complete your blue and orange wardrobe so you can cheer your team in style.

Don’t let the NFL’s “Be Clear” Policy hinder your outfit!  Grab a Lucite clutch or Bloomingdale’s little clear bag to pass through security like the true fashionista you are.

liebster-award 2

I am happy to announce that my blog was nominated for a Liebster Award… twice!  I was originally nominated by Laura of itslalaflutterby and then recently by Rebekah of Moments of a Mermaid!

What is a Liebster Award you may ask?!  I wasn’t entirely sure myself as I’m still pretty new to the world of blogging, so I did my research and found out that The Liebster Award is a way for new bloggers to create connections and empower each other. I’m so grateful to be nominated by both of these amazing bloggers.  Thank you!
