Over the weekend, Scott and I traveled to Pittsburgh for the wedding of two of our friends Nikki and Tyler. It was our first time visiting Pittsburgh and we were impressed by how much we enjoyed the city. (More to come in a later post.)
The event was held at Fox Chapel Golf Club which was more than idyllic. I felt like I had taken a step back in time to a beautiful, charming soiree in the 1950’s. The outdoor ceremony and cocktail hour were hosted on a large veranda where we sipped John Daly’s – which just so happen to be my husband’s summer drink-of-choice! (The refreshing, classic cocktail only helped to make us feel like we were in the days of old.)
Next up was a delectable dinner in a gorgeous courtyard setting, followed by a dance party that lasted into the wee hours of the morning. The bride and groom even busted out a perfectly choreographed, surprise hip-hop routine during their first dance!
I wore a stunning cobalt blue Monique Lhuillier dress. This particular hue of blue is incredible and looks great on any skin tone. The one-shoulder silhouette and mid-length hemline bare just the right amount of skin, while remaining easily elegant. The structured fit, textured jacquard fabric and ruching give the dress an amazing shape.
I broke out the Jimmy Choo shoes I wore for our wedding almost two years ago! I can hardly believe that our second wedding anniversary is just around the corner.
I also paired the dress with drop earrings which were a recent birthday present from a friend, and a House of Harlow cuff.
Congratulations to The Shermans! What a beautiful celebration!
