We decided to take a little trip up to the mountains during my last week of maternity leave.  I am seriously anxious about leaving my baby boy and heading back to work, so a getaway and a bit of fresh air was just what I needed.

We took off for a few days and headed to Leadville, Colorado which is the highest city in North America a t 10,430 feet!  Fall is definitely in the air, and in fact we actually had a few snow flurries when we were up in the mountains.  Although I’m sad to see summer go, I love fall fashion, sweater weather and all things pumpkin spiced!  (Basic, I know.)

This oversized cableknit sweater is the perfect neutral color and pairs perfectly with jeans and leggings. It’s last season, but still available here, here and here.  I’ve linked some other amazing oversized options like this classic v-neck sweater in oatmeal, this kangaroo pocket turtleneck sweater, and this charcoal lace-up sweater that I’m seriously coveting.

Did anyone else have these Minnetonka moccasins as a child?!  I had pink ones with beads that I wore everywhere.  Now I have a toned-down brown suede pair of mocs that are perfect for fall and socially acceptable for an adult!  I actually also have a pair of studded moc booties in rotation too.

And for those of you who think that Carter’s tassel hooded sweater is as cute as I think it is, you can find it here.

On our way to Leadville, we made a detour to hike St. Mary’s Glacier.  The aspen trees were beautiful on our scenic drive and the short trail was a perfect trial hiking with Carter in our Lille Baby carrier. We also brought our big black lab, Charlie who loved splashing around in the lake at the summit. And even though he isn’t the best swimmer, ventured out to retrieve some sticks!
