I say, all lace-up everything! I just added this long-sleeve ribbed dress to my rotation and I really appreciate that it’s such a classic piece. The ribbing creates a very flattering fit and I absolutely love the lace-up neckline with gold grommets. It’s so on trend yet classic, and perfect for summer and the months leading up to it.
This navy bell-sleeved version which is now on sale is another fun option, as is this sleeveless dress.
Navy is a very versatile color and can go with so much. When paired with red as seen in this look, it’s the quintessential color for summer and somewhat nautical. Red, white (as in white legs… just kidding, but really I do need a tan), and blue are the perfect palette for an American summer wardrobe. You also can’t go wrong with a chambray version, or this sleeveless light wash shift. I also think this gauzy seersucker dress, this long-sleeve cotton tee, and this classic white-tee with a twist would be perfect to mix into my summer rotation.
This camel version with a gold-chain is similar to an older style I frequently wear as seen on my Instagram. And this beautiful tan dress with flutter sleeves and knife pleats is a ultra-feminine and classic piece that would be a standout in any closet.
Navy also pairs well with yellow, orange, neutral and this year’s trending white accessories. But I think a pop of pink would be really fun and flirty. I’ve listed some of my favorite pink footwear in this post and in looking back to my Spring Shoe Edit, I actually think all of the footwear featured in my post would look good with this Michael Kors dress in different scenarios.
To really flaunt my obsession with the lace-up trend I paired my navy dress with red suede pointed-toe flats (which are now available in pink) and my go-to crimson carryall. I like the idea of adding a similar style in a neutral leather to my closet and am considering these floral cutout flats, these woven leather flats, or these splurge-worthy flats with a goldtone heel. The skinny straps crisscross and wrap up the ankle, giving a beautiful ballet-inspired detail to a classic pointed-toe shoe.
Pop on a classic trench and you’re all set for April showers!
