New Year’s Eve is just around the corner and I’ve teamed up with June Ruby to provide a little outfit inspiration for when the ball drops!
We’ll be welcoming 2016 in with friends in Chicago. Scott and I will be in town for one of my sorority sister’s weddings, the wonderful Kate of Kel + Kate – a fashion and lifestyle blog based out of The Windy City. And since we’ll be in Chicago for her winter wedding, we figured we might as well spend a night out on the town for New Year’s Eve.
Look #1: Classic Glamour
Eliza J Trapeze Dress || John + Jenn Faux Fur Coat
This embellished trapeze dress is a ladylike option for any New Year’s Eve celebration. The gilded collar adds a sophisticated amount of sparkle for a night out on the town. The chiffon overlay gives the silhouette added volume and moves beautifully, especially with the ruffled hem.
I paired this elegant cocktail dress with black pumps with a touch of gold hardware and a vintage gold mesh clutch. To combat the cold, I grabbed this posh faux fur coat. It literally may be one of the warmest things I’ve ever worn! Plus it’s soooooo soft.
Look #2: Fun Fringe
This festive frock is perfect for dancing the night away, like we plan to do in Chicago. (I can hardly wait!) The sheer yoke adds dimension to the dress and the fringe will be twirling as you boogie around the dance floor. It’s the perfect swingy, update to the LBD.
Since the fringe adds so much to the outfit, I kept it simple with black tights and leather booties. Add a statement sequined clutch (and perhaps your grandmother’s vintage fur) and you’re ready for a night of celebration.
Look #3: Ladylike Edge
Eliza J Bejeweled Top || Leather Leggings || Mackage Coat || Red Bag
This refined and sparkly ivory top adds the perfect amount of glitter to a going-out outfit. The embellished neckline and overall gold sparkle add some glitz and glam, perfect for the countdown to 2016!
I paired this feminine top with leather leggings, my go-to pant when I’m dressing up. The pretty pullover works well with an edgy bottom, modern black heels and a bright bag. And if you have to layer for your night out, you should plan to do so in stylish outerwear! I’m obsessed with this drapey grey coat with leather arms and trim. It adds a swanky element to any outfit. I mean literally this coat would make yoga pants acceptable for NYE!
Although I’m a big fan of color, black and white ensembles are timeless and the perfect option for when the clock strikes twelve. And although sequins almost seem like a given for New Year’s Eve, think about dressing in embellished, sparkly, textural ensembles to elevate your look and stand out from the crowd.
Wishing everyone a fabulous New Year’s Eve complete with bubbles and a midnight kiss! Cheers!
Special thanks to June Ruby for collaborating on this post.
