We’ve heard Two is a Zoo! So we decided to embrace the chaos and throw our little guy a wild bash fit for a pack of party animals.

You baby, are My Exception
Family, lifestyle, Maternity, Motherhood, Parenting
Only you could keep me up at night, deprive me of so much sleep and still deserve smiles in the morning.
You alone could projectile vomit in my hair and have me feel bad for you, not myself.
Kissing anyone else’s feet, wouldn’t even be a consideration. Or picking their nose. Ick!
I wouldn’t cook for anyone else after they threw what I made on the floor.
You baby, are my exception.
Baby Boy’s First Birthday Party
Birthday Celebration, Decor, Denver, Entertaining, Family, fashion, lifestyle, Motherhood, Parenting, summerI recently started reading the 5 Love Languages and although I’m not very far into the book, I’m wondering if there is a “Making A Big Deal Out of Milestones, Events and Parties” love language?! Because if so, that’s me to a T. I live to celebrate the special occasions in life… baby showers, birthday parties, bachelorette parties… sign me up! I will pin ideas, craft decorations, and be the first one there.
Carter’s first birthday party was no exception, and actually my inner party-planner took over and relished in the experience.
Happy First Birthday Baby Boy
Birthday Celebration, Family, fashion, lifestyle, Motherhood, Parenting
We’ve rocked countless hours,
Counted life in weeks and months.
I’ve kissed your cheeks,
your toes,
your Buddha belly,
your rolling thighs,
your fingertips a million times,
maybe more.
I turned thirty, just weeks before you turned one.
I got my first gray hair, while you grew a full head.
You’ve laughed while I cried and I you.
I’ve lost sleep, tracked milestones, snapped countless pictures, and stared at you in complete awe.
You are the best and hardest thing I have ever done.
My heart has grown and exploded with a love I’ve never known.
I have loved every minute of this first year and cherish being your mommy. Love watching you grow and learn. Love seeing your budding personality. Love your infectious laughter. Love your (still) toothless grin. Love your wispy, uneven hair.
I yearn to keep you little but am excited for what’s in store. You’ll accomplish great things little one and I’ll be here, next to you, watching, cheering, celebrating.
Happy birthday baby boy.

A New Mom’s Must-Haves for The First Year
Family, fashion, lifestyle, Motherhood, Nursery, Parenting
My baby’s first birthday is a week from today and although I have no idea how that happened, I thought it was the perfect opportunity to list my must-haves for the first year as a new mom. Since parenting is a moving target, I don’t use all of these things now but at some point in the past twelve months I’ve desperately needed each of these items and have been so grateful for their existence. Whether it was bouncing my newborn to sleep on an exercise ball (which just so happens to be a fab ab workout), soothing diaper rash or testing my breast milk to make sure it was safe for my little to drink after a glass (or two) of wine. See my favorites as a first-time mom!

A Letter to My One-Month-Old Son
Family, Maternity, Motherhood, PregnancyDear Sweet Boy,
I have loved you from the moment I found out I was pregnant. I’d been dreaming of you and wishing for you and when I found out you were coming, life changed forever.
I am overjoyed that you came into this world almost three weeks early because that means I have you in my life for those extra days. Time I will always cherish.
You have turned our world upside down, our nights into days, and have taught us patience and a love so deep it’s scary. You have installed a sense of awe in both me and your father. How in the world did we make a such a perfect little being?!
I am so very happy and proud to be your mommy. I promise that I will do my very best to make sure that you are healthy and happy all of your days. I vow to do everything in my power to make sure you are a gentleman, and that you’re respectful of others. I pledge to help you become your best self and to make sure you are capable of becoming the man you’d like to be.
Your daddy is a great man, and we are very lucky to have him. I hope that you inherit his charm, wit and laid back cool. Look up to him, he is someone to emulate. He will serve as a terrific role model and will be your very best bud.
You are so loved.
Love,
Mom
